Why have a Doula?
Throughout history, women have helped women to give birth. Sadly, this wonderful source of continuous support has mostly disappeared in our society.
Pregnancy, labour and the postnatal time can feel very lonely and stressful, particularly when many mums find themselves meeting many unfamiliar faces who are involved in their care. This can feel very unsettling and difficult when you're making decisions for yourself and your baby's care.
As a Doula, I can be a steady presence with you during all these stages of growing and nurturing new life and forming new family dynamics. Doulas are not health professionals, but they have extensive knowledge of pregnancy, birth, recovery and feeding are equipped to offer emotional, physical, spiritual, practical and informational support.

Mums find that having a doula reduces the need for interventions and drugs to manage pain. Doula's also offer a vital role boosting confidence and empowering parents in in the early days as they settle into a new routine and get to know their baby. Here's some evidence if you'd like to know more.

As your Doula, I will get to know you and your family and offer tailored support which seeks to empower and nurture you during this special time.

I would love to chat more and get to know you. Do get in touch to see how I can support you and your baby. In the mean time, you can find out more about me here.
