Hello
My name is Lisanne. I live in Sheffield with my husband and three young children. I grew up in the Netherlands, but after 10 years in the UK I feel very much at home here.

During the day you'll most likely find me at a local playground, teaching my children, out for a run, studying a course or two, or out for a walk in the Peak District. You'll also find me at a Tots group or a Sunday service at a local church here in Sheffield.

I am also active on the National Breastfeeding Helpline and run a local Bump and Baby Group at the Lifestyle Centre (S20 1HE) on Mondays 1-2.30pm

My Story
Growing up in The Netherlands, I was very much used to families having a lot of professional support during the pregnancy, birth and after baby’s arrival. Home births were a normal occurrence, and two weeks of postnatal support an essential.
However, when my first daughter arrived here in the UK it was a very different story. My husband and I didn’t have a clue how to care for our tiny baby. Nobody showed me how to dress, bath or feed my baby. Safe to say, it was a hard and stressful ride.
My journey to becoming a doula started soon after this. Aware of the rocky ride I had, I just loved supporting and empowering friends to have a smoother postnatal time.
I have now undertaken various courses and workshops, but the most important thing is that I will seek to support you in your own unique situation. I offer tailored pregnancy, birth and postnatal support which seeks to empower and nurture you during this special time.
Although I am experienced and supportive of any type of feeding, I am particularly passionate about supporting mums in breastfeeding their babies. I am a qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor and active on the National Breastfeeding Helpline, and will use that knowledge, experience to support you in making your breastfeeding journey a success.
